THE AMAZING LAIKIPIA CAMP

Ol Maisor Ranch, Laikipia

THE LOCATION

This small and intimate camp will be opening in early 2026 and is situated in the heart of Laikipia, located in a 33,000 acre wilderness area. Surrounded by well-established private conservancies, and part of over a million acres of private land set aside for wildlife, this area offers true wilderness experiences, away from the crowds and where tourism still has a positive effect on conservation and wildlife.

Amazing Laikipia Camp will follow the same concept as our previous camp, the Amazing Mara Camp. 8 stylish safari tents on raised platforms and nestled in an indigenous forest of Euclea and Olive trees, overlooking a permanent waterhole and stream that provides a life source of water to a diverse population of wildlife. With lessons learnt, and heeding the feedback of our amazing guests, we are adding a few small touches to the camp to elevate it to the next level. This includes a two bedroom/two bathroom family unit, complete with its own communal lounge and dinning area.

THE WILDLIFE

Our Amazing Laikipia Camp is in the heart of the Ol Maisor Wilderness Area, a 33,000 acre private wilderness that forms part of the much larger Laikipia conservancies Association, a collaboration of private and community owned conservancies consisting of over 1 million acres of protected wilderness. Our camp also being in a private 150 acres exclusive zone, which provides an important buffer zone between the wildlife and the community.

As our camp is not fenced, we regularly have wildlife passing through camp, both day and night. There is no danger to guests or wildlife and we have day and night watchmen (askari) on hand to ensure that everyone is safe.

Go to sleep with the whooping calls of hyenas, and the beautiful melody of the Nightjar. Then wake up to the wild morning chorus of White browed Robin chats, Greater Honeyguide and the Tropical Boubou. Guests will be enthralled by a multitude of birds who visit our bird baths and feeding stations throughout the day.
